Kenneth Harlen Davis, Jr., 78, of Covington, died Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at his residence. He was born February 7, 1948 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Kenneth H. Davis, Sr. and Mary Jack Combs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Mary Frances Davis. Kenneth worked for many years at J&D Pallets in Covington. In his free time, he loved the outdoors and took great pleasure in hunting and fishing. Survivors include his girlfriend of 24 years, Maudeane Howell of Covington; a daughter, Frances (Floyd) Ayers of Clifton Forge; two sons, Kenneth H. Davis III of Roanoke and John (Elizabeth) Davis of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Robert Davis, Seleana Weddle, Jayden Altice, Tosha Davis, Joseph Duncan, and Kenneth Tolley; two sisters, Pat Snyder of West Virginia and Carol Scott of Clifton Forge; and his beloved dog, Molly. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Arritt Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
