Nellie Selleck Trivitt

With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of Nellie Maxine Trivitt (Selleck) , who entered her eternal rest on June 11, 2026. She was born on May 12, 1957, in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, Nellie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness, strength, and devotion to her family touched countless lives. Nellie was the daughter of the late Jessie R. Selleck and Dora Lee Hensley Selleck. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, the late Betty Deel, Velma Graham, and Phyllis "Doodle" Selleck; and her beloved nieces, Joni St. Pierre and Loretta Dunsmore. A devoted mother and grandmother, Nellie dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. She was known for her warm heart, infectious smile, and vibrant personality. She never met a stranger and could make anyone feel welcome. She loved spending time with family and friends, sharing laughter, dancing, and creating memories that will be cherished forever. Her grandchildren were among her greatest joys, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Also, left to mourn her loss are countless nieces and nephews and other family members. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Rolanda D. Wright and her partner, Tyrone Matthews , and Jessica W. Wright ; along with her bonus daughter, Tammy L. Cervantes and spouse, Jose Cervantes . She was a proud and loving grandmother to Elliana A. Vidal and her partner, Daniel D. Estrada , Cruz C. Vidal , Marcelino A. Saenz , Yocelyn G. Saenz , Mariella E. Saenz , and Yovani A. Saenz . Nellie also leaves behind her beloved dog, Papi , who brought her comfort, companionship, and unconditional love. She is survived by her loving siblings: Barbara Richardson ; Nina and Dwight Bostic ; Randy and Rose Selleck ; Charles and Helen Selleck ; Dana Selleck ; and Rex and Sheila Selleck . Nellie was also blessed with two very special family friends, Jessica Morris and Michelle Johnson , whose friendship and love meant so much to her throughout the years. Nellie's greatest accomplishment was the love she shared with her family. She taught those around her the importance of kindness, resilience, laughter, and unconditional love. Her legacy will continue through the many lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 11:00AM at Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Shane Hiner officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Arritt Funeral Home on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 6:00-7:00PM. Interment will be at the Palestine Chapel Cemetery following the service. Arritt Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling her arrangements. Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with loved ones who have gone before her and is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
