Sally A. Krueger Nicely, age 82, of Covington, died Thursday, August 27, 2026, at her residence. She was born October 11, 1943, in Watertown, Wisconsin, and was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty years, the late Leonard ‘Pete’ Nicely, Jr.; a son, Leonard Nicely, III; her parents, Roger and Shirley Krueger; and a sister, Sharolyn LaFlash. Surviving to mourn her loss are her daughters, Wendy Meeks and husband Tommy, Shannon Porterfield and husband Timmy both of Covington; four grandchildren, Victoria Meeks, Noah Porterfield and Sophia, Hannah Nicely and husband Cade and Brenden Porterfield; three sisters, Betty Frutiger, Jeanne Gassen and Roberta Delany all of Deerfield, Wisconsin; and many other family members. Sally was the co-owner of Nicely’s Taxidermy, which was started in Baltimore, Md. in 1970 prior to moving to the Highlands. The business existed for over fifty years in Covington, where she did all of the finishings and artwork. Her pastime activities included playing golf and in a bowling league, which she enjoyed both sports for many years. In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 6-7PM at Arritt’s Funeral Home. Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of her arrangements.
