Mr. Joseph Bennett Southall, age 68, of Covington, died Friday, May 29, 2026, at his residence. He was the husband of Sissy Calvert Southall. Mr. Southall was born August 15, 1957 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Dewey Southall and Virginia Shay Southall. He was a lifetime resident of this community. During his working career, Mr. Southall had been employed as a chef by the Greenbrier Resort as well as a manager of the former Holiday Inn in Covington. He was a member of Fletcher Chapel Church. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Fletcher Chapel Church with Rev. Clinton Phillips officiating. A private family burial will follow the next day.
