Mrs. Teresa Morgan Cashwell, age 79, of Covington, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026, while under hospice care after an extended illness. She was the wife of the late William H. Cashwell, Jr.
Mrs. Cashwell was born May 17, 1947 in Clifton Forge, the daughter of the late Thurmond Morgan, Sr. and Doris Hunter Morgan. Teresa was a lifetime resident of this community. She was a graduate of Watson High School and attended the former Dabney S. Lancaster Community College. Mrs. Cashwell was employed by H.O. Canfield Manufacturing for a number of years before her retirement. Teresa was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church where she served her church as a member of the Willing Workers Choir as well as the Usher Board and was active in other areas of the church. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Mrs. Cashwell is survived by four sisters: Peggy, Gloria, Charlene, Locksie and one brother, Wendell; many nieces, nephews and cousins; two stepdaughters, Matilda and Melisa; and her step grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband; Mrs. Cashwell was preceded in death by two brothers, Thurmond, Jr. and Irving as well as two sisters, Edith and Doris.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 9, 2026, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 1:30 P.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
