Rebecca “Beckie” McCaleb Helmintoller, age 76, of 602 Granville Avenue, formerly of Wesgate, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Friday, July 24, 2026 at her residence.
Beckie was born on March 18, 1950 in Clifton Forge to the late Thomas Alvin and Dora Murphy McCaleb. She was co-Owner/Operator for Country Garden Florist in Low Moor for many years. She was a longtime member of Epworth United Methodist Church, and attended First Christian Church in Clifton Forge. She enjoyed her Bible study time, crochet, working with flowers, and spending time with her childhood friends. She especially loved spending time with her family on vacations, at sporting events, and supporting her grandchildren. She loved that they called her “Grammie” . She followed all the sports teams that her family followed, especially UVA Basketball.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Russell Helmintoller in 2023.
She is survived by two daughters, Nikki Morris (Joey) of Selma and Megan Pullin (Patrick) of Valley Ridge, Covington; a son, Jason Helmintoller (Deanne) of Clifton Forge; a sister, Mary Beth Meyer (Mike) of Manakin-Sabot; a brother, John Thomas “Johnny” McCaleb (Susan) of Richmond; seven grandchildren, Shawn Helmintoller (fiancée Anna Hayes), Jacob Morris, Parker Osborne, Kenzie Morris, Paelynn Osborne, Burke Pullin, and Eli Helmintoller; a special uncle, Mike Murphy and his daughter, Liberty and her husband, Ben, and their son Murphy; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
