Brett Laudermilk

Brett Ashby Laudermilk, age 64, of 815 King Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at his residence. Brett was born on June 11, 1962 in Waynesboro, Virginia to Patricia Alice Gilpen Laudermilk and Wayland Ashby Laudermilk. He retired as a pipefitter and welder for Westrock after 43 years. He was active in the Alleghany Highlands community as an active member of the Clifton Forge Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 1085, where he previously served as Past Exalted Ruler and Past District Deputy Exalter Ruler, Grand Lodge. He was a talented musician who especially enjoyed playing guitar, and was a member of the band, “Old School”. He was always an avid supporter of musical events taking place in the Highlands as well. He was a fan of the Washington Commanders, and enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing, and riding Harley David motorcycles. In addition to his mother, Patricia Laudermilk, of Eagle Rock, Brett is survived by his wife, Deborah Coffin Laudermilk of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Crystal Ann Laudermilk Hank (Corey Alan) of Charleston, SC; a brother, Randy Laudermilk of Greenville, SC; a grandchild, Evan Alan Hank; and former wife and friend, Laura Snead of Covington. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is handling arrangements.
