Coming up in this afternoon's news:

Clifton Forge Main Street invites you to “Winter Wonderland” this evening at 6 p.m., their annual Christmas Parade, which will begin at the intersection of Ridgeway and Roxbury Street and will continue down Ridgeway Street, through the historic district.

Several outdated laws remain on the books in the State of Virginia, and the State Corporation Commission has recommended that these finally be repealed.

The Executive Director of the Republican Party of Virginia is stepping down.

A year long process to create a strategy to, among other things, attract new investments to the area, will begin in Greenbrier County in May 2020.

We’ll have details on these stories and more this afternoon on the Alleghany Highlands Newsroom with Peter Killeen at 3, 4, and 5 p.m.

This service is to assist families coping with the Christmas season after the death of a loved one. For a number of years this service has been conducted by the staff of Arritt Funeral Home to provide a meaningful worship experience for area families that are grieving during the holiday season.

Many families that have participated in this service over the years have noted that holidays are the most difficult times of the year to get through emotionally. This service is not just for families that have experienced a loss in this year, but for anyone who wishes to honor and remember their loved ones during this special season.

As in past years, Arritt Funeral Home will have dove ornaments engraved with the name of the family member that they have served this year. Families may pick up their ornament following the service.

Have a great Friday!
